As an emerging field, neurotechnology has engaged public curiosity and fascination with an increase in accessibility of neurogadgets for everyday use. The potential of this new field is endless; from reinstalling movement in paraplegics to the training of brainwaves to increase attention in able-bodied users. With these gadgets circulating media, a growing public interest naturally follows. With growing public interest there is an increase in demand for industry communicators to ensure smooth and efficient transfer of technical knowledge to avoid the development of misconceptions of the use of neurotech as a tool. To answer this demand, those with knowledge within the field should be equipped with the skillset to effectively communicate and deliver key messages behind a certain neurotechnology product or method to audiences of all kinds.
This training series aims to equip those engaged in the research or development of neurotechnology with a toolset and understanding of how to communicate their complex scientific concepts throughout different media to various audiences from investors to the main media. Through this course, you will gain an in-depth understanding of different audience types, learn about industry examples of current barriers to effective science communication, and practice communicating across different formats.
